Naturally Green St. Patrick's Day Wheatgrass and Kale Treats

Oh to be sure to be sure, these glorious green dog treats are all natural and perfect for St. Patrick's Day! This is our final pre-Paddy's Day post before we hop into Easter mode next week. It's a whirlwind of fun this time of year, isn't it? So many holidays, so many TREATS! :)  Oli's birthday will be coming up shortly after Easter as well. He's the big 1-2 this year so it will be a grand senior's celebration indeed (pawty ideas and suggestions welcome!).

These naturally green dog bone biscuits were made using the same recipe as our naturally green Christmas trees. When I saw how beautifully green the trees baked up, I knew that it would be perfect for St. Patrick's Day treaties, or anytime you're felling green really!  Wheatgrass gives things a bright vibrant green colour whereas I find that kale gives things a deeper darker slightly muddy green hue. You can use either in this recipe, or (my favourite!) use a bit of both to get a nice rich green. Individual powder will vary in colour and colour strength, so play around and have some fun experimenting with tints.

Heat to our recipe post for the full treat recipe details and tips, and you can find all of our St Patrick's Day related posts here including other tasty recipes, toys, and free printables too if you're gifting treats to lucky furfriends. We also have a St. Patrick's day pet board on Pinterest. Woofs!  See you next week for the start of our Easter fun!

  1. You always have such beautiful cookies, ours barely like the cookie cutter shape :-) :-)

    1. I'm sure they're still yummy though! I occasionally have some horrendous fails, but the dogs never seem to mind eating my ugly mistakes. Taste over looks! :)
