Giving Thanks - Pawesome Thanksgiving Dog DIYs

Happy Thanksgiving this weekend to all of our Canadian furfriends and readers!  Here is a round-up of some pawesome ways to celebrate Thanksgiving with your dog, because you know they deserve a special thank you treat for all the love and happiness they bring into your life.

Clockwise from upper left:

Some of your turkey dinner (like roasted turkey...cue doggy drool!) can be safely shared as a special treat without any extra fuss. Remember, no matter how difficult it may be to resist those puppy dog eyes, some Thanksgiving treats simply aren't safe to share with your pup.  Check out the ASPCA's post for Thanksgiving pet safety tips.  Alternatively, you can pass food and treat your dog to a new toy (maybe a DIY fleece tug toy in autumn colours?) or perhaps a festive bandana (here is a quick how-to on making a no-sew pet bandana).

Of course, the most pawesome treat of all is enjoying the autumn outdoors together! Roll in the leaves, chase them in the wind, sniff all of the good autumn smells, and have a wonderful time.  Work off your Thanksgiving dinner and treats together. :)  Have a great weekend!
